Short Model Rigs have no mainline leader attached. The overall rig length is 4-6" with each lead measuring 2.5-4.5". You can tie direct to your line or we recommend clipping a leader on above for more bite protection. |
All Ice Fishing Quick Strike / Smelt Rigs are designed for ice fishing with larger live or dead baits. For open water fishing use beneath a bobber / float. Quick-Strike design allows you to set hook instantly and release fish unharmed. Bait hangs in a horizontal, natural position. All rigs have extra sharp, strong VMC hooks and premium stainless steel crane swivels. Place hooks apart, along bait's back. Simple to use and very effective. Very high hooking success.
Lead lengths are determined by the amount of leader material not including swivels or hooks.
4.5" Lead lengths are standard if not using a leader above - this will offer some bite protection. For total bite protection use our "Long Model Rigs"

STRANDED WIRE RIGS
Stranded Wire is the most popular line type choice when fishing for toothy fish like Northern Pike. Wire is the toughest and most durable leader material. Wire prevents fish from breaking the line.
FLUOROCARBON RIGS
Fluorocarbon Line offers anglers a stealthy rigging approach. Often used for finicky fish in clearer waters, Fluorocarbon Line is nearly invisible to fish.
SUPER BLEED RIGS (RED NYLON COATED WIRE)
Bleeding Red Nylon Coated Wire mimics wounded bait. These rigs feature bleeding red hooks, line and components. Nylon coated wire is kink resistant and prevents toothy fish from breaking the line.
